Research shows that couples who engage in 1-2 purposeful ways to work on their marriage each week are more likely to stand the test of time.
Marriage Score is an app that gives couples tools to put in meaningful work for their relationship. It takes proven psychological concepts and practices and makes them fun, accessible, and easy to put into practice. Marriage Score removes ‘marriage counseling’ from the realm of crisis mode and therapist offices and gives couples tangible ways to proactively stay engaged in their relationship.
As a brand new company, we had a blank slate to choose how we wanted to present to the world. Although all the stuff under the hood is based on scientific research and the founder’s experience as a professional couples counselor, we wanted to avoid coming across as clinical or overly technical.
Instead, we put forth a strategy of using fun and playfulness to present what might otherwise be stuffy, monotonous, or even taboo. The main logo mimics coloring book graphics and a bright color scheme gives us opportunities to make the app interface exciting and dynamic. Adopting a playful voice gives us the freedom to present heavy concepts in a light-hearted manner.
In that vein, we composed phrases might be said with a wink, an elbow nudge, or a high five:
‘Take that, divorce rate’
‘The Only Thing Funner Than Getting Married is Being Married’
‘Score One For The Couples’
