As we’ve all noticed lately, the zeitgeist has been yanking table cloths and carpet bombing conventions. Quite frankly some things have gotten a little out of Alignment. Take, for instance, the fact that the permed mullet is coming back into style even after we all failed to wear it well in the 80’s. Or the fact that Google’s AI is telling people it’s healthy to eat one small rock every day.
These quirks are todays examples of the wacky out-of-alignment society we dwell in. And if you want to learn more about the bizarre and unexpected, The Alignment is a monthly transmission from our desk to yours–our monthly newsletter of sorts.
It’s where we peek behind the curtain to make sure everything is running properly, sometimes examining for wizards in our midsts. There is an obnoxious amount of content out there, but consider this a one-stop scroll of creative inspiration, agency insights, and a few bits of purely entertaining/wacky/delightful stuff we found on the internet. From unusual brand stunts to playful commentaries on how worship influences culture, we cover it.
All this, straight to your inbox once a month, for absolutely zero dollars. The good news is, if you got this email from us, you’re already subscribed! Welcome.

What we’ve seen in the world
Betty Booze Product Photography: Since the launch of the brand, Betty Booze has been an excellent example of quality product photography. Honestly, it’s content like this that really makes us want to pick up the Sony and do a product shoot ourselves. It’s run by Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, which opens the door for punchy positioning and fun, flashy photography. Real recognizes Real.
The Redesign of McMillers ‘The Monkey Tail Game’: Designer Jim Kennelly partnered @thepapermuse in redesigning a classic vintage game. The challenge was taking the existing box design (which had become very recognizable), and age it up. The original illustration style made the game feel a bit juvenile, and the new look and feel successfully appeal to the more “mature crowd” that the game is intended for.
Tablesmith Launches The DEX1: Yes, we confess that we did do the website and brand for Tablesmith. What we didn’t do is craft the DEX1. That was all Marshall Kettler’s handiwork! This product is one of a kind, and it’s changing the meat curing game. If you own a cooler with a drain and have a go-to butcher shop, the DEX1 Full System includes everything else you’ll need to explore the craft of charcuterie, and serve it unforgettably.
